A personal backup utility. It pulls nightly archives off my own server, encrypts them with restic, and stores a second encrypted copy in my own Google Drive account for offsite redundancy.

About once-backup and Google Drive

once-backup is a single-user tool that I run on my own hardware. It uses Google Drive purely as offsite storage for my own encrypted backup archives.

It requests only the drive.file scope, which limits access strictly to files the application itself creates.
It cannot read, list, or modify any other file in the Drive account.
Everything it uploads is encrypted before it leaves the machine; the contents are not readable by anyone without the local encryption key.
No data is shared with any third party, and there is no server-side component that receives user data.
